The park is a very dynamic environment that requires a highly Flexible approach to dealing with daily responsibilities, specific projects and unexpected eventualities.
The park is owned by the University of Plymouth and Plymouth City Council. Its purpose to provide space and support for businesses from start-up to growing businesses in the science and technology sectors.
There are currently 150 businesses registered on the park employing 1000 people.
This role has the specific responsibility of working within the Front of House and Conferencing teams and additionally to support the other functional teams that manage the various park activities. The responsibilities below are indicative, but not limited to, the types of activities you are likely to be involved in.
Support the Conference Team with room set-up/clear up, meet and greet, directing visitors.
This will sometime entail working outside of the park’s normal working hours i.e. for breakfast events. Consideration will be made for working unsociable hours.
Front of House:
Part of the team that provides all front of house duties that include reception, car parking, deliveries, visits, recording and updating of tenant registrations, security passes, stationery orders, post, franking, enquiries, complaints and other activities that interact with FoH. The role will be expected to work on reception for up to 2.5 days per week.
Maintain and manage the client database which is the spreadsheet that we use for car park passes, swipe cards, job creation and general position statement on how many individuals are employed on the park at any one time.
Support Commercial activities such as networking and social events, business seminars and presentations, investor days, external events such as Plymouth Business Show, and other visits.
Assist in the capture and collation of business data to be used for sales and marketing, business assist records, press and promotional activity.
Collating potential and existing tenant facing documentation including marketing materials (e.g. for use at the enquiry/park tours) and lease information.
Support tours of the park facilities to prospective new tenants.
Project support and administration of relevant systems, e.g. quality, environmental, building services and other associated management systems.
Filing and scanning.
Administration stock management.
Keeping PSP areas organised and tidy plus encouraging recycling.
On site asset management (recording assets such as fire extinguishers and labelling).
Support Facilities with ad-hoc tasks and projects such as fire alarm drills.
Support the activities of finance with specified tasks which you are able to carry out.
The role of Business Services Apprentice requires excellent inter personal skills with a high degree of professionalism and commercial awareness.
A confident and mature manner supported by a professional appearance.
A highly pro-active approach to all tasks to stay ahead of events.
An opportunist who can see and identify improvements to processes and procedures.
A proven team player adept at supporting other functions.
Articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Can handle the pressure of customers/clients requirements.
Able to work full time and if requested, some unsociable hours.
Mobile with full driving licence.

£12,000 pa, 20 days paid holiday, plus bank holidays and Christmas shut down (normally 10 days), pension and life insurance.
