Acronyms named as headline sponsor for Tamar Bridge 10k run on Sunday 24thMarch.
Plymouth Science Park tenant Acronyms have been named as the headline sponsor for the first ever Tamar Bridge 10k. It will be the first time that a road race has crossed the Tamar Bridge since it was built in 1962.
The idea behind the run, as well as the opportunity for runners to cross the iconic bridge, is to offer runners a local 10k event early in the 2019 calendar.
It also presents new runners with recent New Year’s resolutions a chance to test themselves at the 10k distance, whilst for more experienced runners it is the perfect opportunity to prepare for Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon which is later in the year.
Dave Smith, is the Managing Director at Acronyms and will awarding race winners with their medals at the event.
“As a local business with customers on both sides of the Tamar, we feel privileged to be part of the first running event to cross the Tamar Bridge. It would be fantastic to see as many PSP companies as possible taking part.”
The run, which starts and ends at Kings Tamerton Community Centre on 24th March at 08:30am, has a strict 1,000 runner limit. Spaces are running out quickly and those wanting to take part are encouraged to sign up soon. Runners can register for the event at the Run Plymouth website and costs £17.00 for unaffiliated runners and £15.00 for affiliated runners.
The run takes place on closed roads, features a timing chip and all those who finish will be awarded with a finishers t-shirt and medal. For more information and to sign up visit
