NewRobin Design were delighted to attend the inaugural ‘Twinkle Ball’ earlier this month.
The Twinkle Ball is a new charity event hosted by Paddy McGuinness and wife Christine and held in aid of the National Autistic Society.
Robin from NewRobin Design gives us his narative on the star-studded, glitzy evening at Manchester’s Hilton Hotel.
“Saturday morning at 8:00am a very enthusiastic NewRobin Design travelled to Exeter to catch a flight to Manchester & check-in to the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate… This was to be the venue for the first ever “Inaugural Twinkle Ball” hosted by Paddy McGuinness & created by Christine McGuinness.
Paddy you probably know from ITV shows like “Take Me Out” & the new show that aired on Saturday night with him & Keith Lemon, “The Keith & Paddy Picture Show”… Christine is in a show on ITVbe called “The Real Housewives of Cheshire”.
Paddy & Christine have children together, twins aged 4 (Penelope & Leo) & both are on the Autistic Spectrum. The “Twinkle Ball” was in aid of The National Autistic Society. They also have another child & the name “Twinkle Ball” was because they call their children “Twinkle”.
480 people in attendance & over £100,000 raised on the night.
The event was sponsored by OK Magazine (among others) & they were shooting video & taking photographs. We were asked not to publish any photographs until May 8th as that is the date the new OK magazine comes out & they have exclusive rights, but we were given permission for table photographs, the well known #SELFIE and pictures with them.
7:00pm saw us having “Welcome Drinks” in the foyer with many stars before being called to dinner at 7:30pm… during the meal both Paddy & Christine made a point of going about the tables (all 480 people) & thanking each & everyone personally.
John Bishop (Comedian) was in attendance & he did a bit of stand-up. He was excellent, ribbed Paddy & then spoke about how great Paddy & Christine were as parents. Mark Lever then spoke (Chief Executive of The National Autistic Society), his speech was exceptional… then Paddy & Keith Lemon did an auction which raised the majority of the money.
After this Paddy & his wife spoke about their struggle, everyone cheered, they got very emotional & then we had entertainment from tribute Whitney Houston artist (Belinda Davids), she was on a World Tour & was meant to finish the previous week, but came to perform for us. Then ex-band member from the group JLS (X Factor runners-up) Marvin Humes was DJ for the night until close around 1:00am.”
An amazing night for an amazing cause & NewRobin Design got to be a part of it…
